Florida Oceanographic Society educates tens of thousands of students from a four-county area with on-site programs, instruction materials and on-line curricula. Under the leadership of our Director of Education and Exhibits, Ellie Van Os, we are updating our classroom-ready programs that meet Florida’s tough standards for academic advancement.
The programs at the Coastal Center provide a natural learning environment for public, private and home-schooled students. They learn about marine life through structured programs that conform to state- and county-mandated criteria. Just as important, the students are exposed to the natural wonder of the St. Lucie estuary and become aware of how they can be advocates for environmental stewardship.
